Some venues ask audiences to listen differently.

The Burrow, the intimate cultural salon on Miracle Mile, is one of them. On Friday, June 26, it will host Luzía, an Argentine singer, songwriter, producer and creative director whose music moves between modern jazz, soul, cinematic pop and storytelling.

The event is Session No. 14 in The Burrow’s ongoing concert series. Titled “Una Noche con Luzía,” the evening begins at 8 p.m., with the performance scheduled to start promptly at 9 p.m.

An artist between traditions

Luzía’s music draws from several traditions without settling fully into any one of them.

Event materials identify her influences as Sade, Nina Simone, Astor Piazzolla and the poetry of Alfonsina Storni. That is a revealing combination. Sade and Simone suggest music built around emotional authority, restraint and vocal presence. Piazzolla points to an Argentine tradition transformed through complexity, tension and formal sophistication. Storni brings the literary dimension: poetry shaped by intimacy, defiance and interior life.

Together, those references place Luzía in a lineage of artists interested not only in sound, but in atmosphere and meaning.

Her own work, according to The Burrow’s materials, explores self-love, spirituality, resilience, family and transformation. Her voice has been shaped by classical training and years of artistic exploration across the Americas and Europe. She is now based in Miami, where she is developing new work from her studio.

That makes Friday’s performance less a conventional club date than a close-range introduction to an artist still actively shaping her next body of work.

A room built for listening

The Burrow is part of what makes the evening notable.

The Miracle Mile venue presents itself as a modern cultural salon, modeled loosely on the idea of intimate gatherings where music, conversation and social life meet. It operates as a members-driven space, but ticketed events are open to the public.

Inside, the format is deliberately small. The point is proximity: performers close to the room, listeners close to one another and the music placed at the center of the experience.

That matters for an artist like Luzía. Music built around jazz, soul, poetry and storytelling depends on nuance. It asks for a room where phrasing, silence and attention have room to register.

The Burrow’s own event guidance reinforces that approach. Guests are encouraged to engage with the artists during the show, but to keep personal conversation to a minimum while the performance is underway. In a city where live music can too often become background noise, that simple rule changes the terms of the evening.

At The Burrow, the music is not atmosphere. It is the reason to be there.

A public night inside a private-feeling space

The session also reflects a broader experiment happening on the Mile.

The Burrow is private-feeling by design, but its ticketed concerts allow the public into a room that otherwise functions partly as a members’ salon. That hybrid model gives the space some of its appeal. It can feel tucked away and curated without being entirely closed.

For Coral Gables, that matters. The city’s cultural life has long depended on formal institutions — theaters, museums, bookstores, churches, concert halls. The Burrow adds a smaller and more nocturnal version of the same idea: a room where performance is social, but not casual; intimate, but not informal.

Session No. 14 fits that identity. Luzía’s music, with its blend of Argentine reference points, jazz phrasing, soul influence and cinematic texture, is well suited to a room built around attention.
