About the Coral Gables Gazette

A trusted name in Coral Gables journalism, now entering a new chapter.

The Coral Gables Gazette was founded in 1996 with a simple purpose: to cover Coral Gables with the depth, independence and attention to detail that a community deserves.

For years, the Gazette chronicled the people, institutions, businesses and events that shaped life in the City Beautiful and the communities around it. Its journalism earned recognition from the Florida Press Association, while its newsroom became a starting point for journalists who went on to successful careers throughout the media industry.

The Gazette ceased publication in 2012. More than a decade later, its name and mission return in a digital publication built for the way people follow local news today.

The new Coral Gables Gazette is committed to original reporting, thoughtful commentary and meaningful coverage of the issues that matter to Coral Gables. We cover City Hall and local government, neighborhoods and development, business and culture, schools, community life and the people who give the city its character.

Our goal is straightforward: to tell the story of Coral Gables with accuracy, context and a genuine understanding of the community we cover.

The Gazette has a history worth preserving. Now, we are building what comes next.
