Coral Gables is set to celebrate both health and community spirit with the highly anticipated 15th running of Baptist Health’s Tour of the Gables on Saturday, April 26. This year, the event combines the popular 5K, 10K, and the Kids Dash races, providing an opportunity for participants of all ages to engage in fitness and explore the beauty of Coral Gables while supporting a good cause.
Organized by Baptist Health South Florida, in collaboration with the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, this day promises a blend of physical activity, family-friendly fun, and a celebration of the city’s wellness culture.
Event overview
The day begins with the 5K and 10K races, which kick off at 7 a.m. from Coral Gables City Hall (405 Biltmore Way). Whether you’re an avid runner or a casual jogger, these races offer a scenic route through the charming neighborhoods of Coral Gables, featuring tree-lined streets and iconic landmarks.
Participants in the 5K and 10K races will enjoy a well-organized route with hydration stations along the way, as well as the thrill of crossing the finish line at City Hall. The first 600 finishers in each race will receive a special medal designed to commemorate their achievement.
For younger participants, the Kids Dash will take place at 8:15 a.m. Children between the ages of 2 and 9 are encouraged to participate in this fun and exciting race, which will take them through a shorter, kid-friendly route within City Hall’s vicinity. This family-focused event will allow the entire family to get active together, promoting health and wellness for all ages.
Awards, recognition
The event will celebrate the achievements of all runners with age group awards for the top three finishers in each qualifying category. Additionally, the overall top female and top male runners will be recognized with awards at the conclusion of the race. Whether you’re running for fitness or fun, everyone will have a chance to earn recognition for their participation and effort.
