Coral Gables will pause to recognize the service and sacrifice of its first responders on Friday, Jan. 9, when the city and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce host Law Enforcement & Fire Fighter Appreciation Day at the Biltmore Hotel.
The annual recognition event will take the form of a luncheon held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the hotel’s Granada Ballroom. The gathering honors members of the Coral Gables Police and Fire Departments for their role in maintaining public safety and emergency readiness throughout the community.
The event reflects an ongoing effort to publicly acknowledge the work of police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel whose responsibilities place them on the front lines of public service every day.
According to the city’s website, general admission tickets are priced at $250. Proceeds help offset event costs and support related community initiatives connected to public safety recognition.
The event will be held at the Biltmore Hotel, located at 1200 Anastasia Avenue. Attendance is expected to include city officials, department leadership, chamber members and invited guests.
The Law Enforcement and Fire Fighter Appreciation Day Luncheon is being hosted by the Mark A. Trowbridge Chamber Foundation, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2005 by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce.

Just to be clear, this event is hosted by L.E.A.F. (the entity that provides the financial support to families of Coral Gables police and firefighters) and the Biltmore Hotel specifically, working in conjunction with the CG-Chamber of Commerce. While many members of the Coral Gables Municipality will be in attendance and fully support the effort, this luncheon is not a City hosted or sponsored event.
