This Friday, May 2, the Coral Gables Museum will once again transform into a lively cultural hub as it hosts Gallery Night, a monthly after-hours event featuring live music, art exhibitions, local vendors, and two major Centennial-themed celebrations.
Held on the first Friday of each month from 6 to 9 p.m., Gallery Night offers free admission to the museum, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy the space in a more social, dynamic atmosphere. The event is presented by the Young Associates of the Coral Gables Museum and timed to coincide with Coral Gables Gallery Night, a citywide initiative that supports arts and culture.
This month’s festivities include a performance by Crossbeat, a band known for its soulful energy and crowd-friendly setlists. Guests are encouraged to explore the museum’s exhibitions, grab a cocktail, and browse a curated selection of local vendors offering handcrafted goods. Highlights include Andani Crafts (wearable art and leather goods), Miami Supply Co. (locally designed apparel), Blissful Creations Greetings (handmade cards), and A Cleaner Planet, a vendor focused on sustainable living.
Two signature moments will define the evening’s program:
Awards Ceremony: Capture Coral Gables – Centennial Edition
The museum will announce the winners of the Capture Coral Gables photography contest, a special centennial edition showcasing local talent. Selected from more than 200 entries, the finalists’ works capture the beauty, stories, and spirit of Coral Gables. The winning photographs will remain on view throughout the evening and are part of the city’s “Path to 100” celebration marking its 100th anniversary.
Unveiling: 100 Voices Oral History Project
Coral Gables will also launch “100 Voices,” a new oral history initiative designed to preserve the personal stories of residents who have helped shape the city over generations. The growing digital archive features short interviews reflecting the city’s cultural and civic identity and will become part of the official city archives following the centennial year.
Guests are encouraged to stop by the museum before heading to nearby restaurants for a complete Coral Gables Friday night experience. Admission is free and open to the public.
