After more than a decade away, The Coral Gables Gazette is back, bringing trusted local news to the City Beautiful once again—this time in a dynamic digital format.
Founded in 1996, The Coral Gables Gazette was a staple of the community for years, serving residents with comprehensive coverage of local news, events, and human-interest stories. Published by Justin Prisendorf, the Gazette reached 10,000 readers in Coral Gables and its neighboring communities, including South Miami, Coconut Grove, Pinecrest, and Brickell.
However, in 2012, the Gazette ceased publication, leaving a gap in local news coverage. Since then, we have watched as misinformation has spread and accountability has diminished in Coral Gables. Too often, residents have been left without a reliable source for news that directly impacts their lives.
That’s why we’re back.
“I am excited to bring the Coral Gables Gazette back after 12 years. For a long time, friends have been reaching out about the need for the Gazette and seeing what has been going on for some time, I realized now is the time to delve back into Coral Gables and keep its residents informed about what is going on in the City Beautiful,” said Prisendorf.
Our mission remains the same: to inform, engage, and provide accurate, meaningful reporting that serves the people of Coral Gables. In this new digital era, we are committed to delivering timely, in-depth coverage that holds leaders accountable and keeps our community connected.
We are excited to embark on this next chapter and look forward to once again being your trusted source for news in Coral Gables. Stay tuned—The Coral Gables Gazette is here to stay.

Welcome back, Justin(?)!
Good news for Gables residents and local businesses.
Welcome back Justin, great to have another voice covering Coral Gables life
No, This is a New Coral gables Gazette. Not Justin
Welcome back!!!!! We really needed you!
Wow Maria Putin, ALL CAPS? This must be such a surprise to you. I’m sure Ariel didn’t tell you he was reigniting this to try one more avenue to save his ass. You’re much better at robbing school kids than acting.
If you purport to counter the spread of “misinformation” and offer “accountability” you should 1) Have every article individually signed by the author with a direct email address, and 2) create a clear distinction between reported and editorial content. Reporting needs to be evidence based, tell us how you know what you are publishing. Where did you go, who did you interview, what did you see?. Editorials need to be respectful, and supported by evidence and reasoning. Anonymous and unsupported opinions are worthless. Ridicule and ad hominem attacks are the hallmarks of weak ideas.
Good, no, GREAT to have you back. You have always been a man of integrity.
This is Ariel Fernandez running this site. Not Justin.
Question… who is editor of New Coral Gables Gazette? Who is running it.
NOTICE… NEW, Coral Gables Gazette.
Not same as old one….
Hey Justin, is it really you?
Nice to have your NEWSpaper back again with the fair, balanced and truthful reporting we relied upon before.
I certainly wondered when I’d be able to return with some comments, so this comes as a pleasant surprise to me! I remember the good old days of the Gables Gazette. I was an avid reader. Unfortunately this contemporary rendition is by no means the handiwork of Justin, who I admired greatly. This sounds eerily like Gables Insider and (this pains me to say) that’s because it is. What better way to rebrand than to use a name that people already recognize. Come on people, you’re not this easily deceived, are you? If this is actually Justin, then why would he quote himself in the third person? Read between the lines people!! It’s not hard to see that this is a sad attempt by Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Baños to try and grasp what little influence they have left (I make myself laugh, they had no influence). This has their sticky little fingerprints all over it. That’s why the first people to comment are their typical Insider commenters. Hey Mr. Durana, Mrs. Cruz, and Mr. Curtain, good to see you! Obsolescence looks good on you, much like it does on Gables Insider.
Not same. NEW…NOT JUSTIN
Ariel Fernandez is behind this. It’s been confirmed
So many haters. So much negativity. Does anyone really know who is behind the gables gazette? If you do, make us all aware. Don’t tell us what you think, tell us what you know. Most of these comments sound like school children!! Ariel Fernandez this, Ariel Fernandez that. Ariel Fernandez sure does live rent free in your heads. Be glad that there is another source of information covering our beloved city. If you know something that we dont, please share it with us! Also, zero comments on the Carnaval on the Mile, zero comments on the passing of our beloved chamber president Mr. Mark Trowbridge, and one comment on the classic car show. But lots and lots of hate on this new publication and the upcoming elections.
GREATEST OF ALL POSSIBLE NEWS!
A GAME CHANGER FOR THIS ELECTION!
