The Coral Gables Art Cinema is rolling out the red carpet on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m., with a joy-filled screening of The Sound of Music—sing-along style.
Presented as part of the theater’s Musicals for Members series, this event brings back the beloved 1965 classic in a 2K digital format with on-screen lyrics, inviting the audience to sing along to every note of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s iconic score.
Starring Julie Andrews in her breakout role as Maria, and Christopher Plummer as the stern but ultimately loving Captain Von Trapp, the film tells the story of a spirited postulant who leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess for a widowed naval officer’s seven children. Through compassion, music, and resilience, Maria transforms their household—and wins hearts around the world.
From “Do-Re-Mi” to “Edelweiss” and “My Favorite Things,” audiences can belt out every cherished tune in a movie experience as heartwarming as it is unforgettable.
