The rhythms of Brazil will ignite the Sanctuary of the Arts this Friday, May 9, as Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion presents “Latin 2 Piano: From Rio to Miami” — a high-energy celebration of Brazilian music featuring some of the genre’s most iconic sounds and composers.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. and promises to take audiences on a musical journey through Samba, Choro, Bossa Nova, Baião, and Maracatu, with performances by renowned pianists Thito Camargo and Phil DeGreg. Backed by the rhythms of bass, drums, and percussion, the ensemble is set to deliver an evening of music that captures both the technical brilliance and emotional intensity of Brazil’s most enduring styles.

The performance will highlight compositions by Brazilian legends including Antonio Carlos Jobim, Pixinguinha, João Gilberto, Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, and Milton Nascimento — artists whose work has shaped both Latin American and global music traditions.
